chunk of data into fixed lengths chunks and then add a space and again add them all as a string

Tag: regex,list,join,ironpython,findall

I have got hex values as a85b080040010000. I want it to be as a8 5b 08 00 40 01 00 00. I have done it by using below code. But I have to work with very large data. So I want computed time to be very low.

import binascii
import re

filename = 'calc.exe'
with open(filename, 'rb') as f:
    content = f.readline()

text = binascii.hexlify(content)
text1 = binascii.unhexlify(text)
length1 = 32
length2 = 16

list = re.findall('.{%d}' % length1, text)
list1 = re.findall('.{%d}' % length2, text1)

d = []
for i in range (0, len(list), 1):
    temp = ""
    l = re.findall('.{%d}' % length2, list[i])

    s = l[0]
    t = iter(s)
    temp += str(' '.join(a+b for a,b in zip(t, t)))

    temp += "  "

    s = l[1]
    t = iter(s)
    temp += str(' '.join(a+b for a,b in zip(t, t)))
    temp += "  | " + list1[i]
    print temp

Best How To :

You can simply do

x="a85b080040010000"
print re.sub(r"(.{2})",r"\1 ",x)

or

x="a85b080040010000"

print " ".join([i for i in re.split(r"(.{2})",x) if i])

Get element starting with letter from List

java,android,list,indexof

The indexOf method doesn't accept a regex pattern. Why cant I refer to a random index in my 4D list, while I know it exists?

c#,list,for-loop,dimensions

Based on your code where you're filling your 4D list: List<string> Lijst1D = new List<string>(); Lijst2D.Add(Lijst1D); Here you're creating new List<string> and adding it to parent 2D list. But Lijst1D itself doesn't contains any elements (you haven't added anything to it), so Lijst4D[0] will throw that IndexOutOfRangeException as well as...

PHP Regular Expressions Counting starting consonants in a string

php,regex

This is one way to do it, using preg_match: $string ="SomeStringExample"; preg_match('/^[b-df-hj-np-tv-z]*/i', $string, $matches); $count = strlen($matches[0]); The regular expression matches zero or more (*) case-insensitive (/i) consonants [b-df-hj-np-tv-z] at the beginning (^) of the string and stores the matched content in the $matches array. ZipList with Scalaz

list,scala,scalaz,applicative

pure for zip lists repeats the value forever, so it's not possible to define a zippy applicative instance for Scala's List (or for anything like lists). Scalaz does provide a Zip tag for Stream and the appropriate zippy applicative instance, but as far as I know it's still pretty broken....
